“This painting I made for myself to honor my 60th birthday. Turning 60 was not something I first embraced. After the event I still had these dried flowers from a bouquet given to me by my daughter. So I began to compose a painting. I began to see the flowers in their aged form incredibly beautiful, and even though they no longer need water from the vase to sustain them they have a new kind of beauty and no longer need the vase.” - Lauren
