Brian Hone is a cultural producer and creative consultant working at the intersections of museum practice, art education, and design. He currently serves as Curator of Education with MassArt Art Museum (MAAM) at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, the nation’s only public, independent college of art and design. Prior to MAAM, he’s held positions with the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum (Boston) and the Taft Museum of Art (Cincinnati) in his home state of Ohio. Brian holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting and a Bachelor of Science in art education from Miami University (Oxford, OH) and a Master of Liberal Arts in museum studies from Harvard University, Extension School (Cambridge, MA).

As a one-person design studio and creative consultancy, Brian Hone + Studio collaborates with cultural institutions, artists, and private clients to create exhibitions, graphics, and experiences that engage and excite.

In September 2020, Brian was appointed as a Commissioner to the Boston Art Commission. Founded in 1890 as the nation’s first public art commission, the BAC approves and commissions innovative and transformative public artworks that enrich and enliven the urban environment.

In October 2023, Brian was appointed to the Board of Designators of the George B. Henderson Foundation. The Foundation is devoted to the enhancement of the physical appearance of the City of Boston and immensely contributes to preserving local culture and historic values.
